Medstar congratulates the latest graduates from our EMT Academy!

Medstar congratulates the latest graduates from our EMT Academy! On Monday, a celebration was held with graduates, their families, and Medstar leadership at Brick Street Restaurant in Grand Blanc.

“The graduates have been through a lot, entering EMS in the middle of a pandemic. Their commitment was unshakeable,” said Medstar CEO Kolby Miller. “I cannot wait to see their passion and purpose grow as they begin providing care and service while we continue to expand services to meet the increasing needs for healthcare mobility.”

Some academy graduates are still preparing for their national registry testing, and the others will begin to train with our operations departments to gain additional knowledge and clinical certifications.

Medstar launched the state’s first paid EMT Recruit Academy in 2021 in response to Michigan’s growing need for emergency medical technicians. This program has been successful for students because we offer full-time wages during training and provide a full-time career upon licensure. The EMT Recruit Academy provides employment stability while receiving education and hands-on training in a rewarding career. As one of the state’s only nationally accredited EMS training institutions, Medstar also provides free paramedic training to its full-time EMTs who wish to advance their clinical careers.

Registration for our summer EMT Academy is active, and we look forward to discussing our full-time paid training structure and the full-time positions awaiting graduates!
