Medstar’s ground critical care transport units are equipped to handle CCU and ICU patient moves between healthcare facilities. These services are provided by Medstar personnel who have advanced training in managing critically ill patients and using IV pumps, advanced airway control devices such as ventilators, as well as CPAP and BiPAP, and significant knowledge and experience with a wide range of medications.
The Medstar LifeFlight air medical transport program is taking our critical care transport services to the next level. The Medstar air ambulance team is capable of transporting critical patients over long distances quickly.
With a nurse paramedic, paramedic, and skilled pilot on every flight, our air team is committed to providing respectful, engaged interaction with clinicians at the sending facility, the highest level of care during transport, and efficient, rapid transfer of patient care upon arrival at the receiving facility.
