Medstar, Michigan’s largest EMS and mobile healthcare provider, was pleased to award The PIX Theater in Lapeer an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

When someone’s heart suddenly stops beating, AEDs can significantly improve outcomes. The PIX Theatre has taken a giant leap forward in care to save its patrons and employees by applying for a grant to receive this device. This donation was made possible by Medstar’s Shock and Save Initiative. Medstar recognizes community AED placement as a critical component of increasing cardiac arrest survival throughout its nine-county service area.

“I applaud the team at the PIX theater for their forward-thinking approach to keeping the community safe. AEDs are fundamental to improving outcomes from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest,” said Medstar CEO Kolby Miller. “For the past decade, we have provided funding for community AED placement, and it’s great to see the PIX leadership team taking steps to improve care for their guests.”
