Medstar, Southern Michigan’s largest EMS and mobile healthcare provider, is pleased to announce Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital President Gary Druskovich, MD, MBA, is the newest member of its Board of Directors. 

“Dr. Druskovich brings a valuable mix of clinical and operations experience to our organization, and we share his passion for serving the most vulnerable patients,” said Kolby Miller, Medstar CEO. “As our organization continues to grow throughout Michigan, his EMS experience and commitment will help us better serve all patients, communities, and facilities.” 

“I look forward to joining fellow physicians, as well as the healthcare and community leaders on Medstar’s Board of Directors,” said Dr. Druskovich. “I am impressed by the incredible clinical care provided by Medstar’s personnel in the 911 service, as well as the innovations and advancements in critical care transport and population health engagement. As a former EMT and paramedic, it is very exciting for me to participate with such a forward-thinking organization. ”

Dr. Druskovich is an anesthesiologist who was in a private group practice for 27 years. Before being named President at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in December 2019, he held the position of Chief Physician Officer (CPO) for both hospital and ambulatory physicians at Ascension Borgess. As CPO, Dr. Druskovich served as both the Chief Medical Officer of Ascension’s four west Michigan hospitals and the Clinical Vice President of West Michigan Ascension Medical Group. He also served nine years on the Board of Directors of Ascension Borgess. 

Dr. Druskovich attended his first Medstar Board of Directors meeting on June 11.
