Medstar’s clinical teams are informed and prepared for any potentially infectious disease patient we may encounter. We are closely engaged with all public health and local healthcare leadership, as well as local and state EMS oversight bodies concerning Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
We are following all local, state, and federal COVID-19 protocols including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 Guidance for EMS. This includes their extended and limited reuse of N95 filtering facepiece respirators (i.e., masks) guidelines.
Media inquries regarding the pandemic response, treatment, and/or Medstar personnel should be sent to Anne Hein at firstname.lastname@example.org or 586-980-1043.

Medstar is on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and uses UV sterilization for any ambulance and equipment used to transport a patient meeting screening criteria for the virus. UV sterilization has been proven to be the most effective mechanism to kill viruses on surfaces.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Medstar is offering the use of its UV sterilization equipment to police, fire, and other EMS agencies throughout the Medstar service area.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) put together this kit to help first responders during the pandemic. It has information and resources about physical and mental health, as well as other important topics such as child care.
If you have questions about COVID-19, the state of Michigan set up a hotline. That number is 888-535-6136. You can also email email@example.com.
If you think you may have COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider. Here is the CDC COVID-19 Self-Checker. If you have severe or life-threatening symptoms, call 911.
