Lee will enhance and expand clinical care offerings and services 

Medstar, Michigan’s largest EMS and mobile healthcare provider, congratulates Lee Howie on his promotion to North Operations Quality Assurance Manager. In his new role, Lee will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring clinical care and service provided exceed the expectations of patients, communities, and healthcare facilities we serve, as well as working to develop new clinical service offerings and partnerships.

“Since joining our team, Lee’s experience with provider education, clinical quality, and the EMS systems in which we provide care has been invaluable,” said Medstar CEO Kolby Miller. “He has a passion for education for both our team members as well as our first responder partner agencies.  He is one of the most respected agency representatives in the region and has invested his career in improving outcomes for patients. Lee is calm, measured, and focused on his responsibilities in any assignment he is given.” 

Lee has over 30 years of experience in EMS. He became a licensed paramedic in 1992, eventually serving as an instructor, Clinical Quality Manager, and Operations Manager.  Lee joined Medstar’s education department two years ago. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Healthcare Management and Criminal Justice and is currently enrolled in a graduate program studying education. 

“My focus and drive are all about taking care of people. I am thrilled to move into this role and to expand my ability to do that every day,” said Lee Howie. “The team at Medstar is focused on the patients we serve and those who provide the care. As we re-engage after the pandemic, I look forward to contributing to the enhancement and expansion of the care and service we provide.”
